| The
Sixties and Seventies were a period of massive change and social
revolution in the UK. Of stunning creativity mixed with crass bad
taste. Of an obsession with the appearance of change and not always
the reality. Just glance at our People
category for the names you might have forgotten.
Too many have rewritten
the history
of that time for their own benefit. A glance at the Arts
category of the directory confirms that. They were also difficult
times, as the History
& Politics category shows.
A lot happened in those
two decades to change the world forever. A look at the Culture
or the Cinema categories illustrate that.
I'm Ken Marr. And if, like me, you
actually experienced the Sixties and Seventies and got involved in
such events as the Summer of Love, protest marches and the student
"revolution", mods and rockers, Carnaby Street and then
the Glam Rock styles, free rock concerts in London's Hyde Park and a
hundred things more, then you will recall the feeling.
Especially the sounds, as
you can see in the Music
and the Bands
categories. And their successes in the British
Chartbusters of the Sixties and Seventies.
